Lisa Tregenza
PRINCIPAL & Solicitor
After an airline career of some 16 years spent with Air New Zealand, Qantas and Virgin Atlantic, Lisa embarked on a law degree as a mature student in London. She obtained a 2:1 Upper Second LLB Honours degree and returned to New Zealand in 2001, after 23 years in the United Kingdom.
Admitted to the New Zealand Bar in 2004, Lisa gained valuable experience in suburban law firms before commencing in sole practice in May 2009 in Hunters Corner, Papatoetoe. In April 2012 she joined in partnership with Godfrey Brown-Haysom and BT Law was formed. Lisa purchased Mary Hackshaw’s practice in Old Papatoetoe in August 2013 which was amalgamated into BT Law.
Initially a Family Court lawyer, Lisa is now a general practitioner whose areas of practice include conveyancing, small business sale and purchase, wills, trusts and estate administration, elder law, relationship property and contracting out agreements. She appears in Court, particularly in the areas of relationship property, contentious estates and obtaining PPPR orders.
Her airline training has enabled Lisa to build a positive and professional rapport with her clients. An approachable ‘people person,’ Lisa believes that correct and comprehensive advice, explained simply and empathetically, can motivate clients to make well-informed decisions and reach successful legal outcomes.
Lisa was a fully registered RAD ballet teacher for over 30 years and in her spare time enjoys weekends on Waiheke. She has an adult son, Justin, who also works in the firm.
